You don't need me to tell you that we have problems with traffic and parking in Haddington. Transport and internet services throughout the Ward are often in a sorry state.

In Haddington the problems have been studied and expensively consulted on and yet there is still no action. It's high time decisions are taken. Inevitably you can't please everybody so sensible compromise is needed.

Key to sorting out the parking problems in Haddington is enforcement. We need parking wardens present to ensure existing rules work especially when it comes to on street parking waiting times.

At the same time more spaces need to be provided. Many folk think some part of the Council's own free parking around John Muir House should be freed more for the general public and there are other sites already identified which could be used.

Another idea is a round Haddington free shuttle bus and an improved cycling environment so people don't always have to get into their cars as are new imaginative solutions to rural transport.
